Dear little one,
Sitting here thinking back to when you were just five, I can’t help but smile. You’re full of curiosity, exploring the world with wide eyes and an open heart. I want to tell you that everything you've been feeling is valid. All those dreams in your little head. Hold on to them tightly.
First, let me assure you that it’s ok to be curious. Never stop asking “why” because that’s how you learn. Sometimes, people might tell you to be quiet or stop asking questions. Don’t let that dim your spirit.
You’re going to face the moments that might be scary to you. Those dreadful moments might be too heavy for your small shoulders. When it is time for you to face the situation, remember that it is okay to feel lost. It is okay to let tears roll down your small eyes in order to pour out all your emotions. I want you to be the strongest. Later in the future, you’ll be surprised to see how much you can handle.
In this young age, cherish your friendship. Even the simple ones. Even if they don’t last forever, the lessons you learn from each of the relationships will always have an impact in your future. You’ll learn different lessons from different friend groups. You learn kindness from some while you learn to be a shoulder of someone’s emotions. At the end of the day when you’re alone, all these lessons will guide you to the beautiful destination of your life.
Don’t rush to grow up. Enjoy every single moment of being five- playing in mud, chasing after butterflies, and laughing until your belly hurts. These moments are precious all your life. You’re going to miss these moments a lot as you can no longer play in mud or chase after butterflies.
Lastly, know that you are loved just the way you are. You don’t need anything more than who you are right now. You’re adorable and trying your best to grow up. So, be ready. Life will bring challenges, joys, and everything in between, despite all these, you’ll be okay and become someone you’re proud of.
So little one, go out and embrace the world with boundless energy and pure heart. Go out and play until you are tired of jumping and running. The road ahead is filled with adventures, and I can’t wait for you to live with them all. Enjoy your childhood and make it the most memorable and the most incredible phase of your entire life.
With all my love,
Forever yours
